Pet pharmacy orders

Some of our products are licensed medicines, which means we carry out a few extra checks before sending them - just like when you buy your own medicines from the pharmacy. When you place an order, our specially trained team carefully reviews your pet's details to make sure the product is safe and suitable.

For prescription items, our vet also checks the prescription, confirms the correct dosage, and may contact your vet if anything needs clarifying. This extra step can add a little time to dispatch, usually an extra day, but it's all part of making sure your pet gets exactly what they need - safely and correctly.

You can help us to get your order to you as quickly as possible by:

  • Ensuring your pet's details are up to date in your account.
  • Making sure you've ordered the correct product for your pet's weight.
  • Uploading your prescription to your account when you place the order.
  • If your vet is sending your prescription to us, ask them to put your order number in the subject line.

About your Delivery
Where is my order?

If your order hasn't arrived yet, here are a few things to check:

  • Tracking details – use your tracking link for the latest delivery updates.
  • Safe places – check around your property (porch, shed, garage, behind bins, etc.).
  • Neighbours – your parcel may have been left with a nearby neighbour.
  • Delivery notifications – look out for a card or message from the courier about re-delivery or collection.

Occasionally, deliveries may be delayed due to courier issues or local disruptions. If you've checked all the above and still can't locate your order, please contact us and we'll investigate.

When will my order be dispatched?
  • Orders placed before noon (Mon–Fri) are dispatched the same day.
  • Orders placed after noon, on weekends, or on bank holidays are dispatched the next working day.

Orders containing pharmacy items or medications need extra checks, typically an additional 1 working day: pharmacy products are reviewed for suitability, and prescription medicines require a valid prescription and vet approval before dispatch.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Delivery timeframes begin once your order has been dispatched. You'll receive a dispatch confirmation email once your order is on its way.

  • Standard Delivery: 2–3 working days.
  • Express Delivery: next working day for orders placed before noon. Orders placed after noon are dispatched the next working day for delivery the following working day.

Pharmacy items and prescription medicines typically take 3-4 working days in total.

What happens if my prescription is rejected or invalid?

If there's an issue with your prescription (for example, incorrect pet or address details), our team will contact you or your vet directly to resolve it as quickly as possible.

When do you deliver?

We deliver Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

How much does delivery cost?
  • Standard Delivery (2-3 working days): £3.99 or free on orders over £49.
  • Express Delivery (next working day): £4.99
  • Weekend Delivery (Saturday or Sunday): £7.99
Delivery Tracking & Management
Can I track my order?

Yes, all orders are fully tracked. We'll email you your tracking number once your order is dispatched. Your tracking link may take a few hours to activate after dispatch.

Which couriers do you use?

We use trusted couriers including Royal Mail, FedEx and DPD, depending on the size and type of order.

What if I'm not going to be home?
  • Update your delivery preferences via the tracking link
  • Ask the courier to leave your parcel in a safe place.
  • Request delivery to a neighbour.
  • Reschedule your delivery (available with some couriers)
Order Issues
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Please call customer services on (+44) 755 416 9699 or email info@thepetsfoods.co.uk.

I'm missing an item from my order – what should I do?

We're sorry about that! Please contact our customer service team by email or call (+44) 755 416 9699, and we'll resolve this as quickly as possible.

What should I do if my parcel arrives damaged?

Email us with photos of the damage, your order number and details of the damaged contents so we can fix the issue as soon as possible.

Returns & Restrictions
How do I return an item?

You can return non-licensed products within 14 days, provided they are unopened, unused, and in their original packaging. Email us within 14 days of receiving your order with your reason, the products and quantities, and confirmation they are unopened. Please wait for a Returns Acceptance Email before sending anything back.

Licensed medicines (POM-V, POM-VPS, NFA-VPS) cannot be returned once dispatched, due to regulations.

Do you offer click & collect or alternative delivery options?

No - all orders are delivered directly to your address.

Do you deliver to Highlands & Islands?

Yes. Deliveries to these areas may take an additional working day, and any surcharges will be shown at checkout.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland?

In early 2026 new regulations were put in place governing the supply of veterinary medicines into Northern Ireland, so we are currently unable to deliver to addresses in Northern Ireland.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently deliver to England, Scotland and Wales, including highlands and islands.

Are there any delivery restrictions?
  • Aerosols can only be delivered to mainland UK addresses
  • We are unable to deliver to BFPO addresses
  • Orders over 200kg will be delivered on a pallet and may not follow standard delivery times.
